Hi. Lynn Louise Says Beetlejuice Party – that’s the vibe you're going for. Black and white stripes are definitely a main element throughout. Black and white striped pumpkins are placed all around in the entrance to our house and the back yard.
Since you're such a great gardner, some of mums didn’t last past a few weeks so you can use those pots to hold a few pumpkins. you can add some moss underneath and an occasional gold painted bug for finishing touches.
To greet the guests, you can hang a black feather boa wreath from last Halloween on the front door. You can just add a few gold painted beetles and bugs to go with the theme.
You can set up a mini graveyard with a “Betelgeuse” sign you create. Just add some battery-powered lights that you attach around the sign to give it the authentic look. Some other decor touches are black and white candlesticks. Wrap black washi tape around the candlesticks to create the stripes. If you don't light them, it's an easier option than painting them.
Use gold painted beetles and bugs. So perfect to add to various things here and there, like the black gauze, the utensil holder, and the moss underthe cupcakes. Just spray paint them gold.
A tree platter holder is great for the savory table. Buy black chargers to use for food at the party, but when you think about the food display you'll want something with a little more height. Get branches from the tree. Paint them black and screw the chargers into the branch. Use a base that is just a glass vase filled with rocks, wrapped with black and white striped paper and topped with moss.
Spruce up party napkins. Add fun touches and stamping unique touches on the napkins. It’s such a budget-friendly way to add a special touch. Buy a beetle stamp and use any gold stamp pad on plain black napkins.
Food: Shrimp Cocktail (from the movie), Chick-fil-A nuggets (always a party hit), deli meat slices, cheese, veggies and dip, rolls to make sandwiches, crackers, and some grapes. Also, put a bunch of popcorn into a plastic cauldron for a little snack for guests. Make black and white striped jello shots. Here’s a link to the recipe. You can also make a mixed drink to serve at the party, which you can call BEETLEJUICE Set up a “Cauldron-Hole.” Get it? Like Corn-hole? Buy two cheap cauldrons, put a brick at the bottom to secure and then buy 4 mini cornhole bean bags. . NEXT - don't forget the costume contest!!!
